Most instances of damage to the heating wire occur when a metal trowel is banged onto the floor to remove excess mortar. A metal trowel can cut like a knife and either damage or totally sever the wire. The Plastic CableTrowel simply cannot damage the wire. For added peace of mind, consider using the new 3/8” x 3/8” notched CableTrowel to apply thin-set mortar.
