Raeco R-2000 is a premium quality liquid latex bonding agent and mortar additive, suitable for interior and exterior applications. Raeco R-2000 is a low odor, one time re-emulsifiable copolymer emulsion designed to prepare surfaces for cementitious repair and leveling mortars. The superior adhesion, ultraviolet light resistance and water resistance of R-2000 provides superior bonding to substrates. Use Raeco R-2000 in the repair of plastered ceilings and walls, concrete and stucco surfaces. Raeco R-2000 is required over all substrates prior to installing Raeco Self Leveling Underlayment. Raeco R-2000 is ammonia free which eliminates a source of chemical irritation for field applications. This low odor feature is especially beneficial for interior construction or repair projects.

SURFACE PREPARATION
Surfaces to be covered must be structurally sound, clean and free of dust, oil, grease, sealers, curing compounds, laitance, release agents or other surface contaminants. For smooth surfaces, we recommend mechanical abrasion to achieve an acceptable surface profile. The cleaning and preparation method selected depends on both the sub-floor material and its condition. Acid etching is not recommended.
MIXING
Bonding Agent: Add one part water to one part Raeco R-2000. Mix thoroughly before applying to surface.
As Admixture: Add 3 gallons of above 1 to 1 blend of premixed Raeco R-2000 per bag of cement. Normal mixes require 3 parts sand to 1 part cement. A small amount of water may be added to improve consistency.
APPLICATION
Bonding Agent: Apply a thin even coat of Raeco R-2000 by using a damp brush, broom, medium nap roller pad or pump sprayer. Avoid leaving puddles or dry spots. Apply a second coat over porous substrates after the first coat has dried completely. Allow Raeco R-2000 to dry before installing any mortar product. If a textured bond coat is desired, mix with any Raeco brand powder to a slurry consistency, apply by brush or broom.
LIMITATIONS
Do not apply directly over gypsum-based underlayments, vinyl covered wallboard, Masonite, particleboard, asphalt or vinyl sheeting, metal, plastic, glass, strip wood flooring, wet plywood or plywood in outdoor applications before consulting Raecos Technical Service Department for proper application over above substrates. Apply only in temperatures above 40° F. (4.4° C.), and do not allow the bonding agent to freeze. Do not apply in the rain or more than 24 hours prior to installing any mortar product.
WARNING
Raeco R-2000 should not be used in non-vented areas for extended periods of time. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. In case of contact with eyes, flush with water and call physician immediately. For skin contact, wash with warm soapy water. If material is swallowed consult a physician immediately. Avoid hazards by following all precautions found in the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), product labels and technical literature. Please read this information prior to using product. Always make a trial installation first. Use only water based cures and sealers.
