Sensor Wire for In-Floor Heating Thermostat, dual voltage 120V/240V.
It is extremely rare for a radiant floor heating sensor wire to fail. However, it does happen. Therefore we recommend installing a second sensor wire as a precaution and for our customers ‘peace of mind’. That way, if by chance the first sensor wire does fail, the second is already there and can just be switched out. Just disconnect the faulty sensor and connect the back-up. This saves you the hassle and headache of having to tear out a section of your floor, risking damage to the installed wire, in order to replace the sensor. It’s a cheap insurance, not necessary but highly recommended. All controls come with one sensor wire included, but a spare can also come in handy if the original gets lost or damaged during installation.

- Inexpensive failsafe
After reading the experience of others I decided to always install a second sensor in every floor I install. Although I have never had one fail it is an inexpensive failsafe. I have also used it to diagnose a faulty thermostat by simply connecting the second sensor to determine if the first was bad I was able to narrow it down to the thermostat that was indeed faulty.
