Tile saw blades, and any saw blade designed to cut porcelain tile or ceramic tile, are most often continuous rim diamond cutting blades. Some tile cutting blades are segmented, and should be of the highest possible quality to avoid chipping, and most tile saw blades are diamond coated. Thinner tile saw blades cut tiles faster, wider tile cutting blades are less prone to bending, and softer metal rims are generally used for cutting harder material. Hard metal rimmed blades are designed to cut through soft material.
