Laticrete Fracture Ban SC: Rapid-Dry Antifracture Membrane

Laticrete Fracture Ban SC is a thin, load-bearing, self-curing liquid-applied rubber polymer membrane designed to provide antifracture protection beneath tile and stone installations. Suitable for interior and exterior applications, it forms a flexible, seamless membrane that helps prevent substrate cracks from transferring through the finished surface.

The membrane can be applied in a single coat using a paint brush or roller. With a wet coat thickness of 30–40 mils (0.8–1.0 mm), it cures to approximately 0.020–0.030" (0.5–0.8 mm), providing antifracture protection without adding significant thickness to the installation.

Fracture Ban SC dries rapidly, allowing tile or stone installation in approximately 1 to 3 hours. The membrane changes color from light blue to darker blue as it cures, making it easy to visually identify when the surface is ready for the next installation step.

The formulation exceeds ANSI A118.12 requirements for crack protection up to 1/8" (3 mm) and carries an Extra Heavy Service rating according to TCNA performance levels based on the ASTM C627 Robinson Floor Test. Tile, brick, and stone can be installed directly over the cured membrane without priming the substrate.
